Costumes. |

| Obviously when you are creating a film set in the past, it works or fails according to the Art Department's ability to create the illusion of a world of the past. Costumes and sets are the obvious factors. |

Given that Australia has no medieval past, we just don't have the old castles and towns that are available in Europe. And without a budget to build them, we have to be creative. Fortunately Kathryn Whiteford, our costume designer and creator, has the neccessary knowledge and skills to create the standard of medieval costumes that we need. Without a specific country or time period set for the film, we settled for costuming from the late 1200's to early 1300's. Kat's meticulous research and dedication to using patterns and fabrics as close to historically accurate as possible, has paid off in creating a wardrobe of magnificent costumes. The historic illusion created by this film is ensured by the relentless efforts of Kat in the Costume Department. |
