Even though "The Maiden" is a short film there will be the requirement for several challenging FX shots.

Several scenes will need Green Screen Compositing techniques. There will be some 3D elements composited and interactive. Some 2D Backgrounds and Plate Shots need to be added. And some good old fashioned wounding with flowing blood and scars to deal with.
